Founded in 1970, the Plainfield Historical Society:

  • brings together people interested in history, especially the history of Plainfield,

  • researches and collects materials which may help to establish or illustrate the history of the town, and

  • disseminates historical information to arouse interest in the past.

As Municipal Historian, the Society:

  • works with officials to ensure the preservation and accessibility of the records and archives of the town, and

  • supports the preservation of historic buildings, monuments and markers.
